Biography:
I am a dual-title Ph.D student in Comparative Literature and Asian Studies. My research considers representations of gender and sexuality in the cinemas of contemporary Japan and South Korea to examine visualities of intimacy and desire. In particular, I am focusing on the fluidity of masculine and feminine presentation, as well as manifestations of homosociality and homosexuality from the cinematic image. I am also interested in topics of disability, intermediality, popular culture, video games, anime and manga.
