South Asian Studies at Penn State

The South Asian Studies Initiative (SASI) represents the intellectual and regional interests of faculty, students, and the Penn State community who engage in the history, politics, governance, languages, and cultures of South Asia. This includes India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. SASI organizes regular programming related to South Asia, including our monthly speaker series, which features cutting edge research from national and international scholars, and a biannual book club. SASI supports the South Asian Studies minor and is sponsored by the Department of Asian Studies.
