Hangeul Day (October 9) is a public holiday in Korea which commemorates the invention and proclamation of Hangeul (the Korean alphabet) by King Sejong the Great in the 15th century. To celebrate the Hangeul Day, Penn State Institute for Korean Studies and Penn State Korean Language Program present the 2021 Hangeul Calligraphy Contest & Quiz on Korea.
