In these monthly meditation sessions we will explore self- compassion, which means building the ability to care for ourselves and be kind and understanding when confronted with personal failings. When we make errors, having compassion for ourselves means treating ourselves with kindness rather than harshly criticizing ourselves. We come to understand that personal inadequacy and suffering are part of the shared human experience. Arising emotions are addressed with balance and conscious awareness, rather than being suppressed or dismissed. We are less prone to get caught up in negative reactivity or excessive feelings if we improve our awareness. Join us for monthly sessions that include a short talk as well as a meditation practice.
