Biography:
I am a third year PhD Candidate working toward a Dual Title in Comparative Literature and Asian Studies with a Minor in Visual Studies. My research considers the uses of Noir as methodology to (re)construct our understanding of intimate human relations. I focus on Japanese and Korean literature and film from the post war to the contemporary period, paying special attention to depictions of family and the unique forms of intimacy that arise in its absence, as well as the central role violence performs in these (de)constructions.
