Biography:

I am a historian of modern Japan, specializing in politics, diplomacy, nuclear policy, security, and U.S.-Japan relations. I’m a visiting scholar at Meijo University. My research seeks the intersection of U.S. foreign policy and Japan’s postwar security architecture, with a particular focus on how Cold War dynamics shaped bilateral relations and regional stability in East Asia.

Recent Publications:

My most recent book, Former Japanese Prime Minister Miki Takeo and the Origin of his National Security Concept, examines  the security views of Miki Takeo, and political influences that shaped his approach to Japan’s national defense. My first book, The Second Taiwan Strait Crisis and Talks Concluded in 1958 by Japan-US Officials, views the far-reaching implications of the 1958 Taiwan Strait Crisis on the revision of the U.S.-Japan Security Treaty. I have also written extensively on U.S. presidential security strategies toward Japan and Japan-South Korea relations.
