Penn State South Asia Feminist Collective Receives Weiss Research Collaborative Funding
Aparna Parikh (WGSS) and Jessica Vantine Birkenholtz (WGSS and Asian Studies), co-founders of the Penn State South Asia Feminist Collective, have received Weiss Research Collaborative funding for their project, Feminist Perspectives on Political Uncertainty and the Making of Precarity in South Asia.
The collective includes WGSS dual-title graduate students Samrat Sharma, Archana Singh, Nethmi Bathige, and Visakha Chowdhury, as well as Prakriti Prajapati, Nimisha Thakur, and faculty member Trevor Birkenholtz (Geography). Their work includes monthly workshops, a graduate student reception, and book-club support for Spring 2026.
