Audrey Maier wins Korean First Place Award

Audrey Maier, a Junior majoring in Korean and International Relations, won the First Place Award at the 2024 Online Korean Poetry Recitation Contest hosted by the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (KCCLA) and the King Sejong Institute Center to commemorate the 578th Anniversary of Korean Alphabet Hangul Day (October 9, 2024). She recited the poem Beside a Chrysanthemum written by Seo Jeongju (์„œ์ •์ฃผ์˜ ๊ตญํ™” ์˜†์—์„œ).

Audrey started learning Korean after growing up in Dallas with many Korean friends. She became familiar with the culture through her Korean friends and was inspired to learn the language through these experiences. She enjoys K Beauty, Korean food, and Korean ballad music the most. In the future, she would like to share Korean culture with other people by attending law school and connecting law to Korean studies.
